Selling Comic Books At Online Auctions
Tips
1. If the comic is valuable and in VF (Very Fine) or better condition, have it graded by a professional service like CGC or PGX
2. Take as many pictures as you can and as large as you can showing flaws and hopefully how great the condition is.
3. Ship safely! Always package between quality cardboard or in a box! Also make sure each comic is in a bag, so that there is no chance of moisture damage in shipping. Sometimes comics, being so small will be delivered with regular mail and may have to chance the elements in the persons mail box!
4. Be sure to check what that same comic in that condition has gone for in previous auctions! If it is a key issue that always goes for top money then start the bidding at .99 cents! you will always get more bidders and will see a great finish.
5. If you have alot of low priced comics, don't bother to post them at auction, instead put them in an online store, then spend the extra money promoting your more expensive comics with features like bold, etc. when bidding finishes for the expensive auctions mention in an email to the bidder that they can purchase the cheaper comics from your store listings and that you will combine the shipping! you will be making many extra sales of the cheap comics, and getting rid of them that way, with no expensive listing fees!
6. If you have comics that you just can't sell consider including an extra comic with each order for free. The good will goes along ways with your feedback, and returning customers!
7. Build a email list of all your comic customers and let them know when you are auctioning comics that they might be interested in. If they were happy with thier last purchase then there is a good chance they will buy again.
